Session 1 - Where will my help come from?
The bulk of this session was on praise and worship through music. One of the things in the session that really stood out to me is that God created music...He created the earth while a symphony played.
Job 38:4-7 "Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much. Do you know how its dimensions were determined and who did the surveying? What supports its foundations, and who laid its cornerstone as the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?
All praise Him, not just angels and people but every creature!
Psalm 150:6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.
Revelation 5:12-13 In a loud voice they sang: "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!" Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!"
Think of how music can reach our souls in a way that the spoken or written word can not even come close to. How often have you been listening to music and get goosebumps or a lump in your throat or tears in your eyes. Happens to me all the time. Especially with songs like these...
If we are so moved by music now, can you just imagine what it will be like in heaven when we are face to face with our Lord?!
Will I sing 'Hallelujah!'? Will I be able to speak at all? I can only imagine! I can only imagine!
Aren't you glad that I figured out how to embed youtube videos HA!!!
The point is that there are so many ways to find worship music. We need to have these wonderful songs playing in our minds over and over again. Continually praising Him, bringing our minds off of the world and back to Him. The options are endless, there are music stations devoted to Christian music - on the radio, TV, XM, and internet. There are CD's, Mp3, or just singing to yourself. Get those praise lyrics into your head and you will be closer to Him!
